TENCompetence Open Workshop on Current research on IMS Learning Design and Lifelong Competence Development Infrastructures
21 Jun 2007 - 09:00
22 Jun 2007 - 17:00
Etc/GMT
Location: Barcelona, Spain
Venue: UPF, Auditori Estació de França, Passeig de Circumval·lació 8
Date: 21st - 22nd June, 2007
This workshop is organized by the EU 6th Framework Integrated Project TENCompetence. The objective of the workshop is to identify and analyse current research and technologies in the fields that provide the building blocks for the development of an open source infrastructure that contains all the services needed to support individuals, teams and organisations to (further) develop their competences, using all the distributed knowledge resources, learning activities, units of learning and learning routes/programmes that are available online. Two previous workshops have been organised by the project, in Sofia, Bulgaria, March 2006 , where a special focus was Learning Networks; and Manchester, UK, January 2007, with Service Oriented Approaches as the theme. E-portfolios will be the focus of a forthcoming event in Maastricht, The Netherlands, in October 2007.
A newly scheduled workshop designed to train people in the use of the TENCompetence client software (Personal Competence Manager) will run on the Thursday 21 June in parallel to the presentations of the open workshop.
The main aim of this session is to provide training to would-be pilot participants on the functionality and usage of the PCM client. This session is also seen as an ideal opportunity for participants to present their pilot plans and objectives and to provide feedback to the developers of the client.
It is anticipated that there will be four different two hour sessions, each focusing on a specific role and its related tasks and the PCM features that should be used to support them.
The sessions are planned as follows:
Pedagogical backgrounds/modles
Author: Concepts/Tasks
Tutor: Concepts/Tasks
Learner: Concepts/Tasks
