As well as playing host to a festival of football this summer, the picturesque city of Salzburg provided the setting for this year's EduMedia conference.
Over the last few years the Edumedia conference has successfully attracted researchers and practitioners from mostly German speaking countries. With a special focus on self-organised learners in the interactive web, this year’s conference included a TENCompetence strand included presentations on advanced learning technologies and the ways in which they can be used to support self-organized learners.
The TENCompetence track consisted of 3-5 time slots with 2-3 presentations per slot. The track focused on the question of which tools, methods, frameworks and architectures are best suited to support self-organized learners in their competence development process. The event was geared towards the interests of educational technologists, scientists, elearning trainers & teachers.
Selected contributions from the track will be invited to contribute to a special issue of the Journal of Educational Technology & Society published in late 2008/early 2009.
